Beach Views

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a good Mother's Day last weekend and especially to all of you who got to talk to your missionaries. This will hopefully be the last time we will have to Skype Elder Neal. His release date is December 16th. He will get to come home a few days earlier because the church doesn't want missionaries traveling the week of christmas or new years because as we know traveling that time of year can be CRAZY and not to mention SUPER expensive. So Keyen got to choose if we wanted to leave on the 16th or after New Years.

Anyway our Skype session was great! It's not as hard to say goodbye because Keyen doesn't seem sad or lonely at all. He is so focused and in total missionary mode. So if he is good we are all good. He told us some great stories and what it has been like as a district leader so that was awesome! We all are dying for December 16th!!

Here's what Elder Neal said about the week...

" So this week was pretty good:) I was actually sick most the week but I lived:) So now I am close to having my toes fully healed from the curse of ingrown toenails!!! So hopefully soon I will be to 100%!! I got to go to the beach this week!! I went with the members for a ward activity!! So that was way fun!! Not a whole lot happened this week just the same old stuff. The work is going good. We have a couple of people who will most likely be baptized here pretty soon:) so that is awesome!!:) I love and miss you all!!!:) be safe! You are in my prayers!!:)

Back to Bangkok

I am posting 2 updates from the last 2 weeks.

"Yo yo what up everyone!! Well I moved!! I was surprised to leave Surin but hey what can you do? It was hard leaving though! I made some really good friends there!! I will miss all of those guys for sure!! So My new area in in Bangkok. Its called Thonburi.(tone-boory) It in the city. Its the older part of bangkok. But I like it! I like being in Bangkok! So ive met a lot of the member here and they seem way cool!!! Apparently this place is really important at the moment. PJ needs this area to stay good and to grow in the next moth or two so they cal slit into 2 stakes. So I got to try to get this place going! The bishop wants me to have a fireside about missionary work to get the members all pumped up! So That should be fun. I got some good ideas. My new Companion Is Elder Wan. He is from Cali and is half Chinese. This is only his third transfer so hes pretty young in the mission. In my house I have one of my homies Elder Merrill. I was with him in Lopburi for 2 transfers so we are stoked to be together again He is my workout buddy. I converted him to P90X back in Lopburi:) So all is going well. This new area should be fun. I love and miss you all!!!

"Whats up everyone!?:) I hope you are all doing good:) My week was pretty good!! Lost of funny things happened this week. And some cool miracles Also! So the cool miracle was.... One day we went to go help the Sister missionaries teach one of there investigators. And so the lesson was pretty short. So after the lesson was over we weren't sure what to do. We were debating on either going back to the church or to go do some inviting. For some reason we decided to go to the church. I wasn't really too sure why we were going there but we felt like we needed to go. So we get tot he church and within 5 min the relief society Pres shows up. She says hello and starts doing some relief society stuff. Then like 5 min after that some random lady walks into the church. I was in the other room but I could hear her talking to the relief society pres. She Said something about Learning English so I went over to talk to her. I told her that English class starts in about an hour so she could wait if she wanted. Then she says " Actually  Im really not interested in learning English. I want to learn about the scriptures and Jesus Christ." So we gladly taught her right there about Heavenly father and prayer. We met with her 2 more times after that and she excepted a date to be Baptized! She is so good!! So prepared by the lord!! I didn't even have to do anything!! So that was way cool!! Then 1 funny thing that happened was one night the power on our second floor in our house wasn't working!! Thats a big problem cuz we couldn't use the washing machine!! I didn't have any clean shirts for the next day!! So we were looking at the fuse box and couldn't figure out what was wrong. So then, Elder Merill Grabs a roll of toilet paper and chucks it at the fuse box!! and Then All the lights turn on and The washing machine works!! hahah who knew that toilet paper  could be used for fixing fuse boxes?:) hahah So its been a good week!!! Yardwork = Service

"So this week was slow!! the water festival had everyone drunk and hungover all week so i spent most my time visiting members:) The only action was when i went to a investigators house and trimmed up this big tree. They had no ladder and the only weapon was a mini machete thing. So i climbed up the tree and trimmed it from up there. I got bit my many ants and i think a couple of spiders!! But It was a good time!!! This week is transfers so who knows if Ill move or stay!!! I hope i stay!! I love and miss you all!!!

Water Fight Round 2

"So its been over a week and Ive had a lot to do!! I went to a conference and it was good. I just got some training from Pres. Then I had a good interview with him. After the conference I went back to my area. But then I ended up having to go to a different providence again so I could take one of the Elders in my district to a good hospital. So we stayed the night in a place called Korad. We met up with the members there and they were way cool!:) The elder i went with used to serve in that area so it was good for him to see all his friends. Then after that The water festival started!! Its a three day holiday and its crazy!! Water fights and Loud music everywhere! So its been crazy!! We went out and played in it yesterday with the members and hopefully we will get some more action today!! I also got to watch conference and it was so good! I loved the talks given my Dieter and Henry and of course good old Jeffery! iT WAS AWESOME!! i LOVE AND MISS YOU ALL! YOU ARE IN MY HEART AND PRAYERS!!:)"

Work Work Work

"Yo yo yo!! Whats up everyone! I hope you are all doing good:) I am doing pretty good! This week was more of the same. It was freaking hot!! Way humid too!! It looked like it was going to rain a few times but it never did!:( So dumb! But yea other than that it was a good week. We have a few investigators right now so thats awesome:) One of them Should be getting baptized this week!! She is way solid!! Her biggest issue is that her parents are not to happy that she is becoming a christian. Thats how basically all Thai Parents are too so that is hard! But she is just gonna keep doing what she knows to be right! So hopefully all will go smoothly this week:) I got to do a service project exercising my gardening skills again! so that was fun:) I went over to this investigators house and Helped plant some trees:) so that was good:) Other than that is was a normal week. Lots of bike riding and a lot of teaching. All is well here. The work is starting to move along i this area now! so thats awesome! I love and miss you guys!! Be safe!:) You are in my prayers!!

Hello family and friends! It is just me or is March just dragging on?? We are down to the single digits in months till Elder Neal comes home but the closer it gets the ancipatoon gets worse!! Ugh!!

But exciting news! Keyen was made a District Leader which means he is in charge of all the missionaries in his area and reports things to the zone leaders. If you know Keyen he has mixed feelings about it haha! He doesn't like being told what to do and in his words, "the zone leaders will basically tell me everything I am doing wrong." Oh Keyen!

Anyway here is what Keyen said about the week..

"Hello everyone!! How are you all doing!! I hope all is going good! This week went by very fast! But it was a good week. We had a lot of success with inviting. So we were able to meet with a bunch of new people!! We have a few people right now with a date to be baptized so hopefully we can help prepare them for that date! On pday I went and hung out with some elephants so that was fun! The was this baby elephant and it was soo cute and fun!! We had a Easter activity at the church on Saturday and it went pretty well. Not a whole lot of people came but it was a good way to remember why Easter is so important. Other that that this week was another normal week. Things are getting better here in Surin. we are starting to get the branch moving so hopefully the progress with continue! I love and miss you all!!! "

Two in One

I've got 2 updates from Keyen in the last 2 weeks. Sorry for slacking off! 

3/6/2016 

"Wow so much weird crazy things happened this week!! So last Sunday I gave a blessing to a man in the hospital. He looked like he was so miserable and in pain. He had a tube in his nose and another down his throat. His sister (who is a member) wanted us to give him a blessing. So I gave him a blessing. When I gave the blessing i felt prompted to tell him to be at peace, and to not worry and to be afraid. After the blessing his body Immediately seemed to just relax. He just looked at us. His son was there and thanked us. Well the next morning that man passed away. We went to his funeral and his son wanted to know more. He new there was something special about the knowledge we had. So that was a really cool thing! The other crazy thing was when I went to the hospital to visit a less-active member who works at the hospital. So little did I know he is the guy who deals with all the dead bodies!! so he told us to wait because he had to go do something. So we waited in front of his office, then he comes over wheeling in a dead body!! Then he asked me to help him move it and wrap it up in a blanket!! So I did!! Then the next night he asked me to come over to visit him. So we went and we did it again!!!!! I had to handle a dead body twice!!! Oh gosh!!!!! Other than that though it was a good week:) haha I hate to end it on that note but thats all i got!! haha I love and miss you all!!:)

"Yo whats up everyone:) Its been a good week! Its only been a few days since i emailed last and honestly not a whole lot has happened!! It has been soooo hot lately!! Over 100 for the last couple of days!! Its been way humid too!! So hot season has officially begun! It sucks!! The other day I went to a members house and helped trim this tree in her yard. It took forever!! And there were like Five big beehives in the tree so we had to smoke out all the bees before we could start! But I t was fun! I feel the happiest when I am doing a service project like that. Luckily the skills I developed being Grandmas personal Grounds keeper paid off! So yea, Other than that not a whole lot has happened so far this week. I did find a new investigator who is awesome! We taught her once and the spirit was way strong!! I know she felt it. She told us she felt something different. So that was cool! Hopefully she will progress well. Well thats about all i have for this week:) I wont have a pday this monday so Illbe on in like 9 days haha! Well goodbye! I love you all!:)
