Keyen's Farewell

Keyen did such a great job speaking in church on Sunday. I have never been so proud of him and I know my family is proud of him as well.
I just wanted to share some highlights from the words that Keyen touched on in his talk.
Keyen talked about what a testimony is and how he gained his own testimony. Something that really stood out to me was that he talked about what a testimony is. He compared it to when someone gives a testimony in court. You testify of things you saw are what you know to be true. It really puts in prospective of what a testimony is. It's something so simple yet it is such a powerful force for sharing the light of Christ and his love with others.
Another thing he mentioned was that he had many leaders and friends that have been there for him and have helped through hard times by being great examples. I think we can all agree that friends and family can make all the difference when it comes to choosing the right path to take.
It was also great to hear from former Stake President Worthington. I really loved when he talked about how Heavenly Father knows each of us personally. He also pointed out that we can use Repentance ALL THE TIME. It's not something to be ashamed of but it is a gift and we are supposed to use it often because we are imperfect and that is why Jesus sacrificed himself for us, so we could receive the full blessings of the atonement.
Thank you for everyone who came to support Keyen. It truly is amazing of all the loving people that surround him and have helped him get to where he is today. He will be such an amazing missionary. Even though we will miss him a lot this is what his Father in heaven wants of him and he will only be blessed because of it.
Only 2 more days till he has to report to the MTC :)

Keyen's Favorite Scripture

As many of us know when a missionary leaves they get their very own missionary plaque that hangs up in the church while they are serving. Along with a picture of the missionary there is usually a map of where they are serving and their favorite scripture.
Keyen's favorite scripture is truly a powerful one.
"And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall."
Helaman 5:12
This gives me chills every time I read it. I know that the Holy Ghost is testifying of a real truth. I love that my brother loves this scripture.

Come and See

In anticipation for Keyen's mission I have been reading many talks and scriptures about missionary work. One that I really love is a talk that was given by  Elder David A. Bednar just last conference in October. This talk really made think about the people Elder Neal will be teaching, but it is also a great reminder for active or inactive members as well.
Here's the link to the talk if you want to check it out!

Coming Soon

Elder Neal is leaving in 30 days to serve the lord for 2 years. This will be his blog to keep all his family and friends up to date on how he is doing out in the field.
I'm making some final adjustments to the blog before he leaves. Luckily I have time to fix everything up before he goes. Follow along on his adventure :)
